In the morning of November 6th, Hanoi played host to the official opening of the 2023 Vietnam-Korea ICT Cooperation Forum. This marked the third occurrence of the forum, providing a platform for the exchange and sharing of collaborative interests in the realm of information technology and Digital Transformation. Additionally, it served as a platform for discussing policies related to digital technology, technological advancement, and the development of human resources within the framework of cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.

The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam, in partnership with the Korean Embassy in Vietnam and the Korean Information Technology Cooperation Center in Hanoi (Industry and Information Technology Promotion Agency, Korea), as well as the Korean Ministry of Science, Information Technology, and Communications.

In his address at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Phan Tam, highlighted the significant potential for fostering collaboration between the two nations in the realm of information and communication technology. This field wields a substantial influence over all aspects of life and socio-economic activities.

Deputy Minister Phan Tam pointed out that as we step into the period spanning 2021 to 2030, the world remains under the sway of Digital Transformation. Built upon a foundation of numerous cutting-edge technologies, with Digital technology at its core (encompassing artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, blockchain, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things), Digital Transformation is engendering fresh avenues for development – such as Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Digital Society, spanning across every nation. Digital Technology and Digital Transformation have emerged as pivotal components of the rapid and sustainable growth models adopted by various countries.

The Government of Vietnam has set a dual objective: to cultivate a Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Digital Society, while also nurturing Vietnamese Digital technology enterprises that can compete on the global stage. This vision is integral to realizing the aspiration of a robust and prosperous Vietnam, where its people enjoy prosperity, well-being, and happiness.

The 3rd Vietnam-Korea Digital Forum is expected to be an opportunity to respond to the widespread interest and cooperation needs in the field of information technology and Digital Transformation of the two countries Vietnam-Korea, such as policies on Digital technology, technology development, human resource training and is an opportunity for the two countries to continue cooperation.
